Lyrics
The world is turning, the old ways fade A consumer of leaves in the forest shade But a quiet voice whispers deep in the chest It’s time to be still, it is time to rest Like the elder who walks to the canyon alone Marking the path so the way back is known Oh, the heart of transformation A mystery deep in the soul For our FRIEND, we sing this anthem As the broken pieces become whole We are leaving the ground, we are taking to flight Stepping out of the shadows and into the light The eternal youth holds a beautiful dream While the wise old sage understands the stream We need them both as the world falls apart To awaken the courage inside of the heart The cells of the future are waking up now We don't need all the answers, we just trust in the how Oh, the heart of transformation A mystery deep in the soul For our FRIEND, we sing this anthem As the broken pieces become whole We are leaving the ground, we are taking to flight Stepping out of the shadows and into the light It’s a struggle in the dark, it’s a tight cocoon But we’re guided by the sun and we're pulled by the moon We don’t need the data, we just need the breath A great renaissance from the shadows of death The resistance we feel is just making us strong So we can take flight where we truly belong The end of the story is never the end Just a loose thread waiting for us to mend One person at a time, one soul taking flight With vision so wide, we step to the light A great big smile for our FRIEND, as we take to the air The beauty of the butterfly is everywhere The youth and the elder, together they sing To bless all the magic that true changes bring Smile, FRIEND, and look at your wings
